Medjugorje became a meeting point of pilgrims from all around the world when 1981 the Virgin Mary has showed herself to six young parishioners.
Medjugorje is not a city, it's a area between two hills at the altitude of 200 meters above the sea level with mild Mediterranean climate which includes a few small villages. The Medjugorje parish was established in 1982 when it was placed under the protection of St. James, patron saint of pilgrims.For those of you who have never been to Medjugorje, you will experience one of the most spiritual, and peaceful places on earth.

According the testimony of six young parishioners the Virgin Mary has been showing up every day since 1981. and on 25th each month sends peace messages to the world.Medjugorje is a unique event in the world. In the last twenty seven years it has attracted over

Pilgrims practice their devotion of the Way of the Cross on Cross mountain climbing up difficult, almost impossible path. Majority of the people claim they saw various luminous and other signals of apparition of our Lady on this cross.

Most of these people stayed in Pansions either in Medjugorje itself or in the nearby villages and towns. There was also the few who camped outdoors not to mention those who slept a night on Krizevac (Cross Mountain) or Podbrdo to catch the sunrise.
